Praise is what we do

Just like everyone has a different love language, each one of us has an individual prayer language.  Whether we serve the Lord through working in the office or staying at home, we've all been given gifts to glorify Him.

One of the ways I like to worship God is to write poetry.  This is an original piece about how good God is.

Renaissance of a Contemptible Mind

Everything around me’s changing,
Bending, moving, molding, shaking
Transforming, uplifting, truth brought to light
Under the wings of my God, the Christ

From the flow of the dance to the song on my lips
All is formed anew, a fresh life in this
A new forgiveness. Redemption, love, life
An airy devotion, a revitalized sight

A love, a fidelity that I’ve never known
A fondness that only the Maker can show
Exoneration poured out, one so well undeserved
A balm freely given, to ease all sorrows and hurts

The One who’s so grand, with His glory stretched high
Has brought this heart of mine change, made my vision so bright.
So unworthy, and selfish, as the prisoner I am
He has fostered revival by the strength of His hand.

With miracles so eternal; and favor reaching the sky
This salvation, this redemption, it’s claimed now as mine.
So gracious, so lovely, is my Father’s great love
Nothing can separate this, nothing beneath or above.

Life blossoms, life blooms, it swells and I swoon
But His strength and protection is afforded me soon
And the play, it continues; just an act, a mere scene
And I run, and I dance, and I cry, and I scream

His arms are wide open, always comfort and peace.
A renewal of spirit, to those who deserve it the least.
So magnificent, so astounding, this unending grace
From the King of all Kings, the Lord of all days

Through His truth and His might, He is awesome in power
All of immoralities ink, has been from me been scoured.
A continual, yes unending, a great refining fire
And it fans the flames of this everlasting desire.

To please, and to worship, to serve, yes to love
A contriteness of heart; weakness admitted of
And all’s been changed, is different, His mercy entered into
All the praise, all the honor, belongs Lord only to You.

A Girl With No Strings

This is my story.
The happy moments.  The trying ones.
The good and the bad.
This is the pursuit of God's calling on my life.

If you would have told my 20 year old self that I would be a stay at home mom to three young kiddos, I would have told you that you were crazy.

At the time, I was a single mother to a beautiful baby girl and up to my neck in nursing school work.  My plans were to finish school and begin working at a local hospital.  After that, I'd think about marriage and a family.

But God had other plans.
My husband, Chris, and I have known each other since we were in grade school, but had fallen out of touch with each other.  Some dire circumstances brought us back into eachothers lives, and over these past five years we have started a marriage and added two more little ones to our family.  We've truly been blessed.

He didn't stop there.

A year and a half ago, a good friend of ours died in a horrible car accident.  I'll spare you the details, but the entire situation was a huge eye opener, to say the least.  We didn't see it at the time, but God was able to use this tragedy for His glory.  He always does, doesn't He?

Over these past months, He has been working to bring us back to Him.  My husband had been in church as a kid, but never really had a relationship with Christ.

When I was younger, I had been on fire for God, but my love had grown cold.  I had begun to put Him on the back burner and chasing after my own wants.

But God doesn't give up.  He is relentless in His pursuit to court us.
It's truly amazing.
That He wants us so much that He just won't let us go.  He never gives up, even when we are faithless.

A Girl With No Strings is a blog about living the life that God has set for me.
It is about living a life that is seperate from the world.
It's about cutting the strings of the world's ideas for success to follow Christ's lead.

I look forward to discussing the adventures of pursuing God's plan for our family.  From the daily adventures of being a stay at home mom to family fun and faith, I hope my journey can make you laugh and inspire you.

''For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'' Jeremiah 29:11

God bless.
